Evolution of mortality and lethality due to covid-19 in the state of Roraima, Brazil, from march 2020 to july 2021

Introduction: the context of Covid-19 pandemic in Brazilian North region is worrying. There a lack resources for Public Health, low human development index, and poverty indicators above national average. Objective: to analyze mortality lethality from COVID-19 State Roraima, Brazil. Methods: this an ecological time-series study secondary data on Northern Brazil, March 2020 July 2021. The incidence, mortality, rates due were calculated. Prais-Winsten regression model was used calculate time series trends. Trends classified as increasing, decreasing, or stationary. trend considered static when p-value not significant (p>0.05). Results: state 2021, there 123,125 cases 1,903 accumulated deaths COVID-19. first wave (March October 2021) recorded incidence rate (2,995.30 new per 100,000 inhabitants - 2020) (56.32 June higher lethality. However, second (November 2021), highest observed (3.47% February 2021). It that during wave, showed increasing During period, had stationary tendency (p>0.05) percentage with decreasing (p<0.05). more aggravating scenario lethality, which changed daily reduction 0.90% Conclusion: Roraima yet under control, so it necessary strengthen strategies mitigate spread prevent formation waves.
